I found that a little two wire plug came undone from the distributor cap and that prevented the spark. It came undone when I replace the upper radiator hose. It fired right up after I reconnected the plug.

I have a 89. I had just changed the alternator and had the car running when the water pump went out. The pulley sheared right off. I saw it starting to wobble so I turned the car off quickly. Shortly there after "sprangggg" the pulley came off and bearings when all over. So I replace the water pump. It went smoothly. So after I had the car back together I decided to fire it up so see what would happen. Well, nothing happened. The car would crank but no spark. I tried starting fluid and it did not even spark off of that. What could have happened that would prevent my car from starting?
