Windscreen behind seat on '93
Author Last Post
Dear Rick,
We have sold more than 80 of them and installed about half of them and your the first to complain. First lets start with the hole. I would never send one with a hole. it may of happen during shipping or installation.

Installation is very easy and quick. you can raise and lower top with it in place. at times the rear window may hit the black painted bar which may cause scratches which is very ease to touch up. also you can used you rear shelf and will not muffler the rear speakers. and if you like to remove it, its so simple, there are 2 large round knobs you just turn off and done, pack it away.

Now to clear up if it works, no windscreen will work with the windows down. I'm sure you had the windows down an that is why your saying it don't work. It will work somewhat but for max effect, windows need to be up. Try it, you will see a big difference.

My wife Barbara will not go top down driving with me unless the windscreen is installed.

Just a test, try to light a bic lighter with and without windscreen and window up?
I bet it will stay lit with it installed... Rick, come on chat Thursday, there are some that have it, ask them....
Well, I'll answer my own question. I bought a Zee-Screen (name) and Dick Hussey installed it. He warned me I might not like it and he was right.

First, I think it was used. It had black paint scraped from the frame from the top and had a hole about the size of a pencil eraser behind the driver's seat.

Second, I think it's ugly and will probably scrap it.

Third, it doesn't cover the area between the seats - just behind the seats. I see them around here (Fla.) on other cars and they cover the whole area, not just behind the seats.

Forth, I don't think it works I don't see hardly any difference from without one. My wife and I still have to yell above 35 mph. It also wobbles at higher speeds.

Fifth, if you are going to take it on and off, forget it. You need wrenches. The knobs that were supposed to make it easy are stowed in the trunk. Dick said he had a terrible time installing it.

This is the mesh one from Johnny. Dick had the plastic one on his car and junked it because of glare at night.

$300 + labor down the tubes. Someone else might be happy.
I would like to hear from all who have a '93 with a windscreen behind the seat.

I understand there are plastic ones and ones made of screen.

I am really interested since I got hearing aids.

Please all tell me everything about them - good, bad, and neutral. Can you really go 80+ down the interstate and talk to each other?

Also, how hard are they to install and do they get in the way raising and lowering the top?

All info desired and appreciated.

Rick
